Sian McKenzie

The Soulshine Therapist

Sian McKenzie, founder of The Soulshine Therapist, is a dedicated practitioner offering a unique blend of counselling, spiritual coaching, and holistic healing. She is also a women’s circle facilitator and holds regular online meditation events.

Sian’s mission is to guide clients on their journey towards self-discovery, inner peace, and profound personal growth.

With a master’s qualification in clinical counselling, Sian brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. She has been reading tarot for over 10 years and has been a student of spirituality ever since. Sian became a certified angelic reiki master, crystal healer, and meditation teacher in 2022 and has since researched how to ethically integrate spiritual practice with traditional counselling, with the intention of offering a spiritually inclusive approach to mental health support.

Before retraining to be a counsellor and healer, Sian spent 13 years as a leader in the hospitality industry. Her background has equipped her with exceptional skills in communication and creating nurturing relationships, which she now channels into providing transformative therapy.

What sets The Soulshine Therapist apart is its heart-led, holistic approach to wellness. Sian offers clients the opportunity to combine various therapies in their sessions, creating a comprehensive mind-body-spirit healing experience. With client consent and when appropriate, she integrates different practices to address all needs, ensuring a tailored approach that supports overall well-being.

The inspiration behind The Soulshine Therapist stemmed from Sian's observation and experience that conventional counselling often leaves little space for the spiritual elements of a person's experience. Likewise, traditional healers, such as reiki practitioners or tarot readers, often lack training in how to safely and ethically attend to their client’s emotional needs. This leaves space for risk of harm, and means clients are not supported as fully as they could be.

Sian is expanding understandings and acceptability of this approach to healing and wellbeing within the wellness world.

Beyond 1-2-1 client work, Sian is also a women’s circle facilitator and meditation leader. She is passionate about holding space for people to withdraw from their busy lives, to slow down and to reconnect with themselves in a meaningful and healing way.

With a focus on personal development and self-discovery, Sian holds circle and meditation spaces compassionately as she supports her clients to dive deeper into their own experience, emotions, body and spirit. Bringing ancient wisdom to modern audiences, this aspect of her work holds a community feel, as Sian works to rebalance isolation and disconnection in our digitally driven world.
