Petra Gordon

Certified Grief Educator, Grief Coach

Petra Gordon is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Petra has dedicated 20 years of her life in service to her community, first working in the Violence Against Women sector, then working in Child Protection Services.
 
In 2023, driven by an increasing desire to do more, Petra launched her private practice, Beauty from Ashes Counselling and Psychotherapy, in Ontario, Canada. Petra is a Registered Social Worker, and her areas of specialization are grief, loss, and life transitions. After the untimely death of her husband of ten years, her desire to effect changes in her community grew more urgent, and her brand, Beauty from Ashes Academy, grew its roots. Since then, Petra has been a sought-after Speaker and Grief Educator.
 
Grief Expert David Kessler has mentored Petra through his Grief Educator Certification Program. She has also completed her certification as a Transformational Grief Coach specializing in working with widows. Petra is passionate about empowering widows to navigate their lives after loss. Petra is also a certified Transformational Speaker.
 
Petra Gordon is the author of Faith in the Fire: A Story of Resilience. When she is not speaking, teaching, or coaching, she can travel, dance, read, enjoy live musicals, or spend quality time with family and friends. She currently resides in Ontario, Canada.
