Melina Rodriguez
Therapist & Coach
Melina Rodriguez's journey from a little girl born in Uruguay to a mental health therapist in Denver is marked by immigration, trauma, and personal struggles with the relentless desire to strive for more. Her early experiences laid the foundation for PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Settling in Denver, CO, she heeded an internal call to become a therapist, viewing it as the loudest intuition she ever had. Turning her internal solitude into salvation, Melina found a profound ability for connection with others, rooted in her own unmet childhood needs.
Believing in the enduring impact of trauma, Melina focuses on nurturing the inner child and tending to forgotten, often angry parts, leading to true internal freedom. In her eclectic therapeutic approach, she prioritizes the therapeutic relationship, guiding clients to “remember” their authentic selves. Holistic methods, such as mindfulness, visualization, Internal Family Systems informed parts work, inner child work, and creative outlets, form the core of her practice. When appropriate, psychedelic-assisted therapy is employed for deeper healing, especially with clients feeling "stuck."
Melina's work spans issues like anxiety, depression, boundaries, shame, sexual trauma, PTSD, abuse, codependency, and substance use with individuals and couples. Drawing from personal experience, she developed a current niche for supporting women in the sex industry. Melina recognizes and addresses the perpetuation of trauma, mental health issues, boundary violations, and instability pervasive in these environments, as well as highlighting the opportunities for empowerment often overlooked and ignored by society. Melina is a certified yoga instructor, meditator, music and art lover and incorporates these into her work as appropriate.
