Laurence Guyon
Journalist, Author, Coach and Founder
Laurence Guyon is a specialist of outdoor sports in France : journalist, author, coach and founder of, amongst other ventures, La Fabrique verticale (https://lafabriqueverticale.com), an online media about climbing, training and health. Originally she was former top level athlete in sport climbing in the 90th, long before climbing became an Olympic sport.
In particular, she is well-known for having won the Arco Rock Masters and Serre Chevalier Masters in 1995 and she was also Vice World Champion the same year. An accomplished sportswoman, she has stood on numerous podiums and won several World Cup stages between 1992 and 1997. Today, she remains a very active climber and she regularly ticks 8a+ (5.13c) onsights and is redpointing 8c (5.14b), routes of a still very impressive level.
After graduated a PHD in french literature, it was only natural that she should become a journalist, combining her writing skills with a thorough knowledge of outdoor sport. Up to 2014, has Laurence been working as a chief editor of a french climbing magazine. Laurence is a true thought leader in her field and is a published, best-selling co-author of multiple books about training for climbing as well as collaborating in a variety of media outlets, including Sport&Vie.
Most recently, Laurence co-founded La Fabrique verticale with Olivier Broussouloux, specialist in sports physiology and professor at the university. The aim of La Fabrique verticale is to provide the resources necessary for a rapid and healthy improvement in climbing. With over 30 years of proven experience in sport climbing, Laurence and Olivier share with the readers everything that can help them to enhance their enjoyment and motivation. With over 30 years of proven experience in sport climbing, they address performance, health, energy, injuries, nutrition and strength. They also offer coaching services, with a focus on individualised training.
