Karina Jaskova

Nature-Based Therapist, Clinical Psychologist

Karina Jaskova is a Certified Clinical and Health Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Nature-Based Therapy practitioner. Since entering the field of psychology in 2006, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals from all walks of life on their journey toward mental well-being. Her therapeutic approaches include CBT, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and more recently, Nature-Based Therapy.

Karina holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) with distinction from the University of Latvia. She completed a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) program with a Psychotherapist qualification through the Latvian Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association in collaboration with ODYSSEA, the International CBT Institute, and the Czech Cognitive Behavioral Association. Additionally, she has advanced training in Ecopsychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (USA) and a Diploma in Nature-Based Therapy (Australia). She is currently expanding her expertise by studying in The Certified Outdoor Therapist program with The Therapy Adventure (UK).

Her extensive career includes roles at Children’s Clinical University Hospital, Latvian SOS Children’s Villages, and the Crisis Center for Children and Women "Maras Center" (Latvian Samaritan's Association), where she provided psychological assessments, counseling, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Today, Karina operates two private practices. In one, she specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, helping clients navigate various mental health challenges in a traditional psychotherapy setting. In the other, she works with clients outdoors as a Nature-Based Therapist, not only promoting mental health but also fostering deeper connections with nature by blending her psychological expertise with the healing power of the natural world.

In 2022, Karina co-founded the Society of Nature-Based Therapy in Latvia with a trusted colleague, aiming to promote Nature-Based Therapy throughout the country. In 2024, she launched Whisper of the Earth, a platform dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with nature for healing while fostering deeper, more caring relationships with the natural world. Through this platform, Karina shares practical insights and inspiration, encouraging people to develop meaningful, respectful relationships with nature and to remember that we are not separate from nature—we are nature.

Karina’s profound connection to nature is at the heart of both her personal and professional life. This bond not only shapes her therapeutic approach but also inspires her mission to help others cultivate meaningful relationships with the environment. Her work encourages individuals to reconnect with nature, reminding us that our healing and well-being are deeply dependent on the health of the planet.
