Eva Benmeleh
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Hello! My name is Eva Benmeleh, and working as a clinical psychologist, I am passionate about helping individuals find their way to a more fulfilling and balanced life. With extensive experience working with children and adults, my mission is to support those who seek to create a strong link between the outward success of their lives and their inner sense of fulfillment. I specialize in working with perfectionists, individuals with big hearts, hidden beneath layers of vulnerability and self-protection.
I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and my family and I immigrated to Miami as a young child. My diverse heritage — Jewish, Greek-Turkish, Costa Rican-Polish — has allowed me to connect easily with clients from various backgrounds. From a young age I developed a profound empathy and a desire to help others as part of a larger mission—Tikkun Olam, the pursuit of social justice.
Throughout my life, I have pursued perfection to achieve ambitious goals, realizing that high expectations for myself and others can be beneficial, and the missing link between status quo and next level. However, my inability to savor my achievements or enjoy relaxation prevented me from fully embracing my success and hindered me from preparing for the next phases of life.
It wasn't until I recognized that perfectionism is at the crux of many mental health disorders, my therapeautic work felt incomplete. Many issues stem from this feeling of not being good enough, it's a spiritual crisis that multiplies and infects every aspect of one's life. It cannot be cured with manualized treatments or medication. Those are just bandaids to a deeper root question - who are we and what is our purpose in this life?
Blending psychospiritual practices with modern day techniques allows me the opportunity to work with clients resolve their issues on a deeper level and quicker pace. So that. not just them. but everyone around them benefits from their inner work, expanded awareness, and more creative fulfilling lives.
I also teach on the impact of perfectionism in professional arenas to help organizations deal with common issues such as burnout, medical errors, procrastination. and fatigue. I also teach on maternal mental health and it's significant impact on not just the mother, but the entire family unit and society across generations.
