David K Firnhaber

Doctor of Philosophy in Cybersecurity

David Firnhaber is a distinguished professor known for his extensive research and contributions to the field of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). He has dedicated his career to exploring and addressing key issues within cybersecurity. With a robust background in cybersecurity he has published articles in prominent journals, leading to significant advancements in PQC. His college education began an Associate's of Applied Science (AAS) in a double major Computer Information Network Systems/Computer Information Network Technology (CINS/CINT) with a concentration in Security. He continued on to DeVry University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in digital forensics concentrating in cybersecurity. He then went on to the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and graduated with a Master's of Science in cyber investigations concentrating in cybersecurity. His first PhD was attained at National University, formerly known as Northcentral University. He graduated with a PhD in Technology Innovation Management concentrating on cybersecurity. Finally, he returned to National University and studies currently as alumni for a second PhD in Cybersecurity concentrating on Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

In his current role as a doctoral student at National University, Firnhaber oversees a range of projects aimed at combating human trafficking in cyberspace, working closely with a team of talented professionals to drive innovation and progress. He is recognized for his unique ability to translate complex concepts into accessible and engaging content, making him a trusted voice in the industry.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Firnhaber is committed to volunteering his time and efforts to community involvement. He actively participates in the Moose organization and LION195, an organization that is dedicated to combatting child trafficking, demonstrating a strong dedication to giving back to the community and fostering positive change.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Firnhaber is an avid hiker, fisherman, and singer/solo/songwriter often finding inspiration in his escape from his studies. This diverse range of interests enriches his perspective and contributes to his well-rounded approach to both work and life.
