Antonio Griggs, born and raised in the Bible Belt, didn't become "Yahya" until much later in his life. His origins are rooted in Meridian, Mississippi where the majority of his family are rooted in the church. Before the age of 10, he recalls leading Sunday School classes, singing in the choir, being an usher and also being involved in different plays and church activities. Not only was his spiritual background established, he also began his extra curricular activities such as; baseball, basketball, football, gymnastics, ballet and acquired a black belt in Taekwondo before reaching that decade mark.
During his elementary, middle, and high school careers, "Tony" as his friends and loved ones referred to him, was also in honors classes. All of these things captivated him and his family thought he was going to be one of the next rising stars you see on TV but didn't know in which area or sport it would be. At the age of 15, when he first encountered psychedelics, "Tony" started questioning the "truths" he spent his entire life believing and hIs spiritual journey offically began.
Throughout the duration of his adolescence, he stopped attended church and started to study and participate in the teachings of Rastafarianism. Slowly but surely, as the journey progressed, his academic and societal standing digressed. "Tony" got caught up in the wrong crowds and became well versed in substance abuse and the judicial system. This undoubtedly had an adverse effect on his academic career. As a result, his time spent at Louisiana State University didn't end with a diploma. It ended with a record and a few addictions.
Returning home as the prodigal's son, "Tony" still continued on his sacred journey and was introduced to Islamic teachings. From this spiritual system and cleaning up his past, he also started to learn about the Moors and their contributions to society. This was the first time he heard about "Moon magic". The aftermath is when the flood gates opened and "Tony" started to learn about astrology, astronomy, metaphysics, numerology, tarot, Hinduism, Buddhism,  occult teachings, voodon, Orishas, Gods, Goddesses, angels, demons, different spiritual pantheons,  and Gnosticism. The unsuspecting overload of information eventually lead "Tony" to mental overwhelm and hospitalization. Not to mention, the lingering substance abuse and experimentation with new ones.
This is when "Yahya" was born and what he calls his "spiritual initiation". He also states that " It took him about 10 years to catch up to the things he saw and experienced In that state". After his release and some time passed, he persisted on his journey and came across the book Opening to Spirt. He states " this book change my whole perception of reality itself and helped reprogram my subconscious mind and energetic being". The book included work with the 7 chakras, crystals, yoga practices, breathing excercises, fasting and meditations amongst more.
A few years after this, "Yahya" had the opportunity to meet the author and become certified by her as and Energy4Life wellness coach. This form of coaching focuses on 4 main modalities; energy food, energy excercise, energy balance, and energy psychology. This serendipitous opportunity also lead him to obtain the credentials as a master life coach and shaman.
"Yahya" now has been in business for 7 years as the owner/founder of Ascension Ave. LLC where he helps spiritual beings heal, gain clarity of self and unlock their greatest potential. Throughout his tenure there, the right set of circumstances happened to lead him to acquiring Shreveport Live LLC, a multi-media streaming company where he's also the CEO and producer. He's happy to state that he's produced a short film and has done business with individuals from the Boys and Girls Club to being able to capture mutli-million dollar entertainers such as Master P and his No Limit entourage.
Now as he humuorously calls himself "King of the Shamans", "Yahya" dedicates his life to helping others avoid the pitfalls he once found himself ensnared in. He now enjoys spending his free time with his son, family members, and loved ones. When asked what keeps him going he'll sing a song from one of his favorite artists and say "feeling like i done already made a movie, now its time to make history!"
