Annie Chen is a third-culture Chinese American and the daughter of an immigrant. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with a master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction Applied Behavior Analysis, and a bachelor's in psychology. Annie started her career working with neurodivergent children utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA). She fell in love with it because of the fast and enormous progress she saw with children and their families. However, after working in the health care and clinical field for 8 years, her eyes were open to the many limitations where quality of services could be offered. She realized she needed to address a deeper concern to help children and neurodivergent individuals truly, and that was coaching adults without the restraints of a medical model. She experiences daily a world where healthy coping skills are rarely taught to us; how to build healthy relationships (including those with our children and our partners) was never modeled. She realized to help build a better future by raising healthy children, we needed healthy adults to raise them first. Annie has spent her last 2 years building her company to incorporate trauma-informed training as well as nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and breathwork in her services, integrating various components of holistic treatment. She enjoys advocating awareness of the causes of our everyday symptoms and has almost a decade of experience in the therapeutic field and working with neurodivergent individuals. She has unique experience applying ABA in the foster care system, leading inclusive-focused ABA services for preschools and teachers, crisis prevention, and working with a multicultural audience. She has done staff training of 50+ as well as remote group parent training in Tanzania, Africa. Through her journey, she has experienced firsthand how the strategies of behavior science and mindfulness greatly impact the lives of many within the scope of trauma, anxiety, and PTSD, as well as her own.
