Amber Soiland
Nurse Educator & Public Advocate
Amber’s journey in healthcare began in 2006 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where she quickly developed a deep passion for patient care. She advanced her career by becoming an LVN and then an RN, continuously striving for excellence. Now enrolled in a Doctorate of Nursing program, she is dedicated to driving meaningful change in the healthcare system.
She spent the first four years of her nursing career in postpartum care, supporting new mothers and newborns during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. While she loved the connection with patients and families, she felt drawn to a faster-paced, high-stakes environment. This led her to transition to emergency nursing, where she spent the next six years and fell in love with critical care, trauma response, and life-saving interventions.
Amber lives in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County, California, with her husband and their five children. Her personal experiences have shaped her advocacy—losing her brother-in-law to suicide and battling her own struggles with mental health and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome have fueled her mission to improve patient care, increase access to harm reduction resources, and challenge systemic flaws in healthcare. As the owner of The RTI, she teaches critical care, mock codes, and national certifications, working to bridge gaps in education and emergency preparedness.
Passionate about Narcan distribution, harm reduction, and saving lives, Amber also uses social media to make complex medical topics accessible to a wider audience. When she’s not teaching or advocating for change, she finds balance in vinyasa yoga and cooking, embracing both the intensity of emergency medicine and the need for self-care.
