Melisza Neckel

Systemic Family Psychotherapist

Mag. Melisza Neckel was born and lived in Cape Town, South Africa until she was 26 years old. She completed her Bachelor and Honours degrees in Psychology at the University of South Africa. In 2017, she got the opportunity of a lifetime, and moved to Vienna to study Psychotherapy Science at Sigmund Freud University. She earned the opportunity to complete the training and studies in the city where psychotherapy originated. Since then, she has completed her Bachelor and Master degree in Psychotherapy Science. She completed the specialised training in Systemic Family Psychotherapy and became fully licensed as a Psychotherapist with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health in October 2022.

The abundance of cultures and experiences from growing up in Cape Town have shaped her as a person and psychotherapist. It allows her to connect and respect each person’s unique culture and life story. She feels honoured and privileged to be in a position where people truly trust her and give her permission to enter their world, no matter how dark or light that world might be.

Melisza 's diverse educational journey has shaped her approach to the psychotherapy process. She works holistically and systemically. She believes each client is unique, which means the psychotherapeutical relationship and process is specifically tailored. From her perspective, psycho-education is an essential first step in acquiring tools, resources and skills to manage your emotional experience. From there, the possibilities are endless.
